Mayor opens Village Board meeting

Present: Mayor Miccio, Deputy Mayor Phillips, Trustees Newhard, Brozier and Ferrara, Clerk Angela Arasim

Pledge of Allegiance

Senator Terry Gipson is present to give a legislative update to Board and audience

Mayor entertains motion to accept the minutes of the January 27 meeting So Move Deputy Mayor Phillips, Seconded, Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried

Mayor entertains motion to accept the minutes of the February 3rd workshop meeting So Move Deputy Mayor Phillips, Seconded, Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye, Trustee Ferrara abstained. Motion carried

Mayor reads abstracts:

General $43,478.75

Water $24,988.33

Sewer $17,099.83

Capital Project Firehouse $167,256.86

Trust & Agency $1,408

Mayor entertains motion to approve abstracts as read, So Move Trustee Ferrara, Seconded, Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye.

Mayor reads proclamation declaring April Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and entertains motion to accept as read, So Move Deputy Mayor Phillips, Seconded, Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried

Mayor reads proclamation declaring May Mental Health Awareness Month, and entertains motion to accept as read, So Move Deputy Mayor Phillips, Seconded, Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried

Deputy Mayor Phillips moves to approve payment from the Celebration fund to the Office of the aging for the senior picnic, Seconded, Trustee Brozier, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried

FIRE: Chief Dean Scofield reads report

Fire memberships read and Mayor entertains motion to accept, Motion made by Deputy Mayor Phillips, Seconded Trustee Newhard, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye.

JUSTICE: Mayor reads report submitted by Court Clerk; on file.

POLICE: Commissioner Glenn Scofield reads report

WATER AND SEWER: Morrison, water and sewer Superintendent; gives report, on file.

AMBULANCE: report submitted by Trustee Newhard

Mayor opens to Floor

Peter Demos, 25 Academy Street asks when the temporary fire department building will be taken down.

When the snow clears and they are able to, it will be taken down

Dave Norbrega, Penelope’s Pit Stop asks if the Village can extend the outdoor café time for tables to be placed outside.  Village Attorney will draft an amendment extending the time period.

Deputy Mayor Phillips moves to adjourn, seconded, Trustee Ferrara, discussion, none, all in favor, Aye.  8:50  pm
