Residential
The eastern side of Route 9 is the home to most of the single-family residences in the Village. Vintage sites and modern developments alike have filled out this portion of the Village, counting local merchants and NYC commuters among its residents.
Commercial/Industrial
The commercial and industrial corridor situated east of Route 9 and south of Merritt Blvd. represents years of careful planning designed to bring the efficiency and stability of larger-scale enterprise to the Village. This area has acted as a magnet for many satellite businesses such as hotels and restaurants.
Residential/Greenspace

Local Center
The local center of the Village includes the Historical District which includes many centuries-old structures an sites dating to pre-revolutionary America. It is also home to many eclectic shops and dining extablishments, as well as cozy residential areas and Village offices.
Mixed Use
The Village proper surrounding the local center is made up of retail, residential and light industrial/commercial occupants. Many structures of historical significance can be found in this "second ring" of village life and activity.
