Village Government

Mayor James J. Miccio

Mayor James J. Miccio has served as Mayor of the Village of Fishkill since 1999. Jim had previously served the Village in other positions dating back to 1978 when he first joined the Village as a contract operator for the Village Water Department, he also served over 4 years on the Village Planning Board and a four year term on the Village Board from 1990 – 1994 as Deputy Mayor. Jim gave up the Village Board position in 1994 to accept the position of Superintendent of Public Works for the Village of Fishkill until 1997. During his time as Mayor, Jim worked closely with the New York State Department of Transportation on a major reconstruction of Main Street, he oversaw the Phase I upgrade to the Village Sewer Plant and is coordinating the Phase II completion upgrade to the Plant. Mayor Miccio has close ties to the business community and in conjunction with the Business Association helped raise the money needed to purchase a freestanding street clock and flag pole to be displayed in front of the Village Hall. He also gives strong support to community activities thereby bringing people into the Village for things like public street fairs, fireworks displays, parades and Village historical walking tours.

Mayor Miccio is a lifelong resident of Fishkill. He is a current member of the Dutchess County Mayors and Supervisors Association, a Dutchess County Legislator for District 17, and an Executive Committee Member of the New York Conference of Mayors (NYCOM). He is currently employed by the City of New York in their Department of Environmental Protection as a Section Chief for Environmental, Health and Safety Training.
