Administrative:

Chairman Hans Klingzahn opens the meeting at 7:00 pm and announces that Hilary Roberto is now a full member of the board and welcomes her.

Roll call: Present: Hans Klingzahn, Cris Phillips, Reylene VanGeldern, Hilary Roberto and Matt Vetare. Absent: Theresa Cuchelo. Also present: Pete Phillips, Deputy Mayor and liaison to the Planning Board and Don Van Nostrand, Board Secretary.

Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion to accept the minutes for the meeting held on March17, 2016. Motion by Cris Phillips to approve.  Seconded by, Reylene VanGeldern, discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.

Review:

           Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion. Cris Phillips moves to approve a building mounted

           sign for Orange Bank and Trust located at 703 Route 9 as per the application. Motion seconded

           by Matt Vetare. Discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.

 

2. Magnuson Hotel                        - 20 Schuyler Blvd                - Sign Permit Application

          Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion for the sign designated 2A. Hilary Roberto moves to

          approve the stand alone sign for Fishkill SAI Hospitality LLC for the Magnuson Hotel located at

          20 Schuyler Boulevard with the color change to Majesta. Motion seconded by Cris Phillips.

          Discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.                                                            - 

           Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion for the building mounted sign designated as 2B on

           the application. Hilary Roberto moves to approve a building mounted sign for Fishkill

           Sai Hospitality LLC for Magnuson Hotel located at 20 Schuyler Boulevard. Motion seconded

           by Reylene VanGeldern. Discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.

 

3. Trost Residence                         - 63 Broad Street              - Certificate of Appropriateness

           Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion for a Certificate of Appropriateness for 63 Broad

            Street. Cris Phillips moves to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for Dale and Ann Trost

            at 63 Broad Street as per application. Motion seconded by Reylene VanGeldern. Discussion none,

            all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.

 

4. Mau Residence                           - 39 Jackson Street          - Certificate of Appropriateness

             Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion for a Certificate of Appropriateness for 39 Jackson

             Street. Cris Phillips moves to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for Teena Mau at 39

             Jackson Street for a white fence as per application. Motion seconded by Hilary Roberto. 

             Discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.

 

5. William Ross                             - 12 North Street              - Certificate of Appropriateness

             William Ross explained to the board that the approval for converting the building to

             apartments did not work out budget wise. They would like to clean it up and make it more

             presentable by residing the building, replace the windows and take down the chimney.

             Chairman Klingzahn reads a letter (on file) from Tom VanTine (Building Inspector/Code

             Enforcement Officer) on the application.

             Chairman Klingzahn entertains a motion on the application.

              Hilary Roberto moves to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for William Ross at 12 North Street. Motion seconded by Cris Phillips. Discussion none. Motion carried.

 

6. Stephanos Ristorante                   - 1053 Main Street         - Certificate of Appropriateness

                Applicant Carmine Mazzola explained that he would like to move the main entrance

                to the side entrance, frame the new roof and change the windows.

                 Hilary Roberto moves to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for Carmine Mazzola

                  at 1053 Main Street. Motion seconded by Cris Phillips. Discussion none. Motion carried.

                 

Chairman Klingzahn entertains motions for the following yearly Sidewalk Café Applications

 

                  7. Dutchess Biercafe                            1097 Main Street           - Sidewalk Café Application

                  Cris Phillips moves to approve the Sidewalk Café Application for Dutchess Biercafe located

                   at 1097 Main Street. Motion seconded by Reylene VanGeldern. Discussion none. Motion

                    carried.

                   8. Tomato Café                                     1153 Main Street           - Sidewalk Café Application

                   Hilary Roberto moves to approve the Sidewalk Café Application for Tomato Café located

                   at 1153 Main Street. Motion seconded by Cris Phillips. Discussion none. Motion carried.

                    9. Trattoria Locanda                           1105 Main Street           - Sidewalk Café Application

                    Reylene VanGeldern moves to approve the Sidewalk Café Application for Trattoria

                    Locanda located at 1105 Main Street. Motion seconded by Cris Phillips. Discussion

                    None. Motion carried.
