The Village of Fishkill and VFW Post 1286 will host a Memorial Day Parade and Service on Sunday, May 26, 2013

The Village of Fishkill and VFW Post 1286 announce their annual Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013. The Parade will step off from Church Street at 2:00PM with the Orange County Professional Musicians leading the parade down Main Street and ending at Monument Square near Route 9 and Main Street. Members of VFW Post 1286, other Veterans, Elected Officials, Boy and Girl Scouts, Civic Organizations and Societies, Protection Engine Co. #1 with the Dixie Dandies Marching Band, and other fire departments, will march in the parade. At 2:30PM at Monument Square, Master of Ceremonies, Mayor James Miccio will start the Memorial Service with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by Tom and Joanne Fitzgerald singing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. The VFW will place wreaths at the Monument; Dr. Ingrid VanHollebeke, D.O. will be the keynote speaker; the Village Essay Contest winner from the Fishkill Elementary School will read the winning essay along with many other ceremonial activities. Please join with the Village of Fishkill and VFW Post 1286 on Main Street to “Remember Our Fallen Soldiers.”

VFW Post 1286 extends an open invitation to all veterans to participate in the parade and service.
