Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting
August 24, 2017
Chairman Tom Brooks opens the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Tom Brooks, Ann Trost, Terry Palumbo, John Depew Absent: Tom Newhard. Also present: Sarah Brown, Village Planner, Village Board Trustee Anthony Brozier and Planning/ZBA Secretary Don Van Nostrand
Chairman Brooks entertains a motion to accept the minutes for the meeting held
on February 23, 2017. Motion made by Terry Palumbo to approve. Motion seconded by John Depew. Discussion none, all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Brooks announces that there is no public hearing tonight and that the board would be reviewing the plans for the Holiday Inn Express application.

Tom Depuy gave a summary of the project and explained what the owners of the
property would like to put an addition on each side of the current building. The common space on the first floor would be enlarged and 15 additional rooms would be added. The truck parking area has been revamped and additional parking spaces have been added however a parking variance would be required
in order to meet the parking criteria set forth in the Village of Fishkill zoning.
The applicant can provide 82 spaces whereas 88 spaces are required thus requesting a parking reduction of 6 spaces. Also, there is a front yard setback requirement which has been exceeded. A 50 % impervious area in the in the front yard setback is required and the applicant can provide 60% impervious area thus requesting a 10% impervious increase.
Ami Parikh, Creighton Manning Engineering conducted a Parking Assessment to evaluate the existing and future parking demand and its impact due to the expansion of the hotel. (report on file).
Sarah Brown, Village Planner covered the previous problems on the site along the George Carter Way and the need for updating the applications for the number of parking spaces required and the impervious surface requirements.
Chairman Brooks entertains a motion to set a public hearing for this application
on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
Terry Palumbo makes a motion to set a public hearing on September 28, 2017.
Motion seconded by Ann Trost. Discussion none. All in favor. Aye. Motion carried.
