Sludge Hauling Bid

Legal Notice

Sealed bids will be received by the Village of Fishkill, Dutchess County, Van Wyck Hall, 1095 Main Street, Fishkill, New York until 10:00 am on May 18, 2018

 

All bids for hauling liquid sludge from the Village of Fishkill Sewage Treatment Plant to the City of Beacon Sewage Treatment Plant must conform to the following specifications:

 

  1. Liquid sludge will be hauled from the Village of Fishkill Sewage Treatment Plant to the City of Beacon Sewage Treatment Plant.Loading and unloading of sludge will be the responsibility of the contractor.The Village of Fishkill will be responsible for “tipping fees paid directly to the City of Beacon”.

     

  2. The contractor must be available within twenty-four (24) hours of notice to haul sludge.

     

  3. The contractor agrees to be responsible for all spills within and outside of the Village property during loading, unloading and transportation of the sludge.

     

  4. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all required permits.Copies of such permits must be received by the Village with all bids.

     

  5. The contractor is responsible for all laboratory testing required to obtain all required permits.

     

  6. Sludge hauled will be approximately 1% - 7% solids.

     

  7. All equipment for loading and unloading of sludge will be the responsibility of the contractor.The Village of Fishkill will not be responsible for any item relative to loading and unloading (i.e. pumps, electric, water, etc.)

     

  8. The contractor is responsible for compliance with all safety standards.

     

  9. The contractor is responsible for the difference of the original bid minus the actual amount expanded by the Village if another contractor must be hired due to lack of performance by the contractor.

     

  10. The Village of Fishkill or their representative reserves the right to inspect the equipment, and/or documents of the contractor at all times if a safety violation is believed to exist.

     

  11. This contract will terminate on 5/31/2019

     

  12. Proof of insurance must be provided along with naming the Village of Fishkill against all possible liability with respect to contract.

 

 

  1. The contractor must be bonded.

     

  2. Include hauling and disposal price for alternate disposal site in the event Beacon is unable to take sludge.

     

    THE VILLAGE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS.
