Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting                  

March 28, 2019

 

Acting Chairperson Terry Palumbo Terry Palumbo opens the meeting at 7:00 PM and entertains a roll call.

 

Present: Terry Palumbo, Tom Newhard, John Depew, Ann Trost, and Alternate James Layton. Absent: Tom Brooks. Also present is Tom VanTine, Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector, Sara Brown, Village Planner and Don

Van Nostrand, Board Secretary.

  

Terry Palumbo entertains a motion to accept the minutes for the last meeting held on December 27, 2018. Motion made by Ann Trost to approve the minutes, Motion seconded by John Depew. Discussion none, all in favor. Aye. Motion carried. .

 

Terry Palumbo announced that there is no public hearings tonight and the board would be reviewing a variance application for Burger King and asked that the

applicant please step forward.

Steve Wilson presented the plans for rebuilding the Burger King Restaurant on Route 9. The present building will be demolished and a new building will be

built, with new landscaping, new parking lots and new lighting plans. As part of

that variances will be required for the reconstruction and Steve went through

each variance required (variance applications on file).

 .  

Steve Markim informed the board that a drive up windows would be installed on the site and explained the traffic flow on the site.

 

Steve Wilson also addressed the landscaping on the property and pointed out

the screening along the residential properties in the back of the building. He also

addressed the parking on the site as well as the entrance and exit to Route 9.

Several questions were raised on the signage and Steve Wilson addressed the proposed signage for the site.

 

Sarah Brown reviewed her letter (on file) to the board on the project.

 

Acting Chairperson Terry Palumbo entertains a motion to set a public hearing

for  April 25, 2019.

 

So moved, John Depew. Motion seconded by Ann Trust. Discussion none,

all in favor, Aye. Motion carried.
